The light Givers Humanitarian Foundation launched a campaign titled “Find your spark and change the world” as they beamed their satellite on the City of Lagos to continue their humanitarian service on the street of Orile Iganmu Sururele local Government Area Lagos State Nigeria on 20th January 2020 where the poorest of the poor only beg to survive the present economic situation of the country.
Some of them are on wheelchair, some are blind, some are homeless while some are aged especially those with children. The atmosphere signifies unhealthy environment where men, women and children lack food and basic necessities to improve their standard of living. The Light Givers Humanitarian Foundation (TLGHF) considered it a sole responsibility not just to visit them but also cooked for them and the food was duly distributed.
Poverty is a tragic condition that afflicts millions of people around the globe. Many struggle to obtain basic necessities and to provide for themselves and their families, yearning for a prosperous life free from the incessant distractions and anxieties of an impoverished way of living. One of the better ways to help the poor and needy people is to give them an opportunity to live a better life (i.e a hand up rather than a hand out). Giving them moral support, showing heartfelt humility and respect makes them aware that someone really does care about them and trying to improve their condition. By providing them with the opportunities to improve their condition on their own would increase their self-esteem and help them in overcoming barriers they face every day.
However, Social Media has become one of the most used ways to help the poor and needy people and perhaps, the easiest way as well. Through the use of Social media and Social Networking Sites like Facebook or twitter, one can raise his or her voice and create awareness and get a helping hand; can connect to various charity organizations or community centers involved in helping the needy people; one can buy products online from websites that donate a portion of their proceeds to charity that helps the poor and needy people.
The light Givers Humanitarian Foundation believes in touching lives, building a world filled with love and light.
